Fair Housing Training

 
The Fair Housing Act makes it illegal to discriminate against renters,
home purchasers, and borrowers, among others.
Please join us for a practical overview of fair housing rights. 
Topics will include protected classes, types of activities that are illegal, theories of discrimination
and burdens of proof, and HUD’s new rule on Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing. 
We will discuss discrimination based on race and gender as well as protections
for persons with disabilities, families with children, and the LGBTQ community. 
We will also discuss how to file a complaint, what happens in the course of the investigation,
remedies available for violations of the Act, and strategies to avoid violations. 
Tenants, housing advocates, and housing industry professionals are all welcome.
